Abstract
⺠Finite thickness changes the properties of an electron gas confined in a plane region. ⺠The finite thickness might give to electron gas a multiband character. ⺠The two-dimensional behavior is verified for Q2DEG with thicknesses below a critical value. ⺠The critical thickness is obtained from the analysis of different physical quantities. ⺠Thick Q2DEG might have properties of a system that is not two dimensional, but it is not three dimensional either.
