Abstract
► Developing a conical shell model for buckling analysis of nanocones using nonlocal theory of elasticity. ► Small scale effect reduces the stability of nanocones under external pressure and axial compression. ► The small-scale effect is more considerable as the sharpness of the nanocones increases. ► Sharpening the nanocones tip improves the stability margin of the nanocone.
