Abstract
⺠Double-walled carbon nanotube is modeled as two thin shells for finding natural frequencies. ⺠The influence of initial axial stress and thermal effect on frequencies are investigated. ⺠It is shown that thermoelastic damping (TED) is an important factor in vibration analysis of nano devices. ⺠It is shown that the vdW interaction and boundary conditions have a significant effect on TED. ⺠It is shown that initial axial tensile stress decreases thermoelastic damping for c-c DWCNT and increases thermoelastic damping for s-s DWCNT.
