Abstract
► Branched carbon nanotubes have been prepared by pyrolysis of C2H6S over Fe catalyst. ► The appropriate C2H6S vapor concentration for nanotube growth is around 2.67-4.96%. ► The nanotubes are made of stacked conical graphite sheets with a cone angle of 30°. ► The product exhibits extensive violet and blue emission due to the specific defects.
