•The CoTiSb/Fe(Mn)/CoTiSb TMR multilayer are firstly designed.•A conductive film with 100% spin polarization induced by the single atomic layer of Fe/Mn is formed.•The single atomic layer of Fe/Mn has a limited influence on the electronic structures of the matrix.•Our work bring a different perspective into spintronics device, such as TMR, etc.
Fe/Mn single atomic layer with b.c.c structure is coherently inserted into half-Heusler compound CoTiSb. Electronic structures, magnetic properties and interface effects of the CoTiSb/Fe(Mn)/CoTiSb superlattice have been investigated by using the first-principles calculations. We predicted that a conductive film with 100% spin polarization is formed by the single atomic layer of Fe/Mn as the center between the semiconductor CoTiSb. And the single atomic layer of Fe/Mn has a limited influence on the electronic structures of the atomic layers inside CoTiSb. These make the CoTiSb/Fe(Mn)/CoTiSb superlattice a potential candidate for spintronic device, such as TMR, etc.
