Abstract
In the framework of Landau–Pekar theory, we study the polaron problem in the double quantum ring structures within the effective mass approximation in the presence of perpendicular electric and parallel magnetic fields. The electron and polaron ground-state energies are analyzed as functions of external fields and double quantum ring structure parameters. It has been shown that the probability of finding electron in both inner and outer quantum rings can be controlled by barriers and applied fields.
► The influence of external fields on the polarons in double quantum rings is studied. ► The polaron energy can be controlled by the barrier and the applied fields. ► The polaron energy strongly depends on the strengths of the fields.
