Abstract
⺠Shape and nitrogen effects are studied for dilute nitride quantum dots using k.p model. ⺠The s hole state can be lower than the p hole state for ring structure. ⺠Incorporation of nitrogen can reduce transition energy and increase transition matrix element. ⺠Volcano shape is preferred due to its greater optical gain properties.
