Abstract
⺠A suitable change of variable transforms ellipsoidal QD into spherical QD. ⺠Energy levels of carriers in an EQD under an external electric field are calculated. ⺠Oscillator strength (OS) is calculated in terms of photon energy. ⺠Optical absorption coefficients (ACs) versus external electric field are calculated. ⺠ACs and OS decrease as the ellipticity constant and electric field increase.
