Abstract

Methods of production of complex semiconductors based on the metal oxides have been developed. The semiconductors can be used either as highly effective catalysts and redox catalysts or as low active photoresistant catalysts for the manufacture of special atmosphere-resistant and light-resistant coatings. The physicochemical properties of the newly designed semiconductors have been investigated in respect of their dependence on the semiconductor’s composition. We have analyzed different aspects of interrelation between catalytic and photocatalytic activity for the systems containing metal oxides and determined factors of joined and individual changes of the activities. Mechanisms of the catalytic and photocatalytic reactions involving complex compounds based on the metal oxides have been ascertained.
