Abstract
One-dimensional nano-structured spinel LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 with a diameter as thin as 50-100Â nm was successfully prepared using electrospinning method followed by a heat treatment procedure. These nanofibers efficiently suppressed the large volume change and capacity fade inherent with bulk-sized LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 particles when discharged to below 3.0Â V, and thus demonstrated excellent rate capabilities in a voltage range of 2.0-4.8Â V.
