Abstract
A hybrid anode consisting of a woven graphitic carbon paper and silicon nanoparticles has been investigated for Li-ion batteries. The structural carbon paper itself exhibits a specific capacity of 167 mAh gâ1, while the supported silicon nanoparticles exhibit a specific capacity of about 1,300 mAh gâ1, which can increase the overall capacity of the electrode by >10%.
