Abstract
Two graphene materials obtained from the thermal reduction of a graphite oxide or a graphene oxide are investigated as positive electrodes in Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries. The electrochemical performance of TRGO, obtained in a single step, was much better than that of TRGrO. This is attributed to the better quality of the restored 2D graphitic structure, which implies a higher electrical conductivity, and to the presence of a large amount of reactive edges in the graphene sheets.
