Abstract
⺠We studied a new catalyst for hydrogen production in microbial electrolysis cell. ⺠For the first time the Fe-C-N nanomaterial catalyst was developed in MECs. ⺠The nanorod materials exhibited a catalytic activity for proton reduction. ⺠A great advantage of this catalyst is its much lower cost compared with platinum.
