Abstract
On the basis of the electronic structures obtained by first-principles calculations, we have studied the half-metallicity of Fe2CrSi/Fe2VZ systems, where the Heusler compound Fe2CrSi is predicted to be a half-metallic ferromagnet in its bulk. The present result shows that these systems hold a high spin polarization (larger than 90%) because the interface suppresses a drastic and a harmful change of the electronic structure from bulk to film, which reduced the spin polarization of the film.
