Abstract
The precursor films and Li droplets on the Cu (1 0 0) and (1 1 1) surfaces spread regularly in all directions and eventually trend to form a perfect circular shape. On Cu (1 1 0) surface, the evolution of a thin precursor film is observed along the [11¯0] orientation but absent along the [0 0 1] orientation, and the precursor film presents an oval shape ultimately. The fingering feature presented in the precursor films on different Cu surfaces greatly depends on the substrate orientation.308
