Abstract
► Two dimensional CA model was developed to simulate the dendritic growth with artificial crystallographic orientation. ► The comparison between tip growth velocity predicted by the model and the prediction of LGK model was carried out. ► The effect of mesh size on the dendritic growth kinetic was investigated. ► The simulation of dendritic growth with random crystallographic orientation and location were performed. ► The columnar dendritic growth in a unidirectional solidification was predicted by the model.
