Abstract
► We model single phase, anisotropic grain growth using Q-state Monte Carlo method. ► We used a variety of Wulff plot configurations to assign grain boundary energies. ► High energy grain boundaries migrate faster than corresponding low energy boundaries. ► Found abnormal grain growth associated with certain Wulff plot configurations. ► Anisotropic growth showed lognormal grain distributions with large positive skew.
