Abstract
⺠A novel method for coupling concurrent local/nonlocal models is presented. ⺠The method is based on the peridynamics modeling framework. ⺠The proposed blended model satisfies Newton's third law and is patch test consistent. ⺠Accuracy and efficiency of the method is demonstrated w.r.t. a reference fully nonlocal model. ⺠The method is generalized for coupling peridynamics and higher-order gradient models of any order.
