Abstract
⺠A continuum damage mechanics model for steel under cyclic straining is proposed. ⺠Viscoplasticity, hardening, a strain memory surface and ductile damage are modelled. ⺠To overcome the pathological mesh dependence an nonlocal extension is used. ⺠A global damage indicator reveals the overall structural stability. ⺠Results are presented for a 3D structure under seismic loading.
