Abstract
► We model a graphyne family by increasing the acetylene groups from one to five. ► We investigate their mechanical properties upon tensile tests. ► In the armchair load, more acetylene groups lead to lower σc whereas unchanged εF. ► In the zigzag load, more acetylene groups result in improved εF whereas unchanged σc.
