Abstract
⺠Observations are reported on polypropylene in cyclic tensile tests with stress- and strain-controlled programs. ⺠Fatigue failure in ratcheting tests is caused by pronounced acceleration of plastic flow. ⺠Severe growth of plastic strain occurs in the crystalline phase and is induced by lamellar fragmentation.
