Abstract
⺠The damage and deformation of the metal matrix composites were investigated. ⺠The stress triaxiality is the main driving force for the ductile damage and failure. ⺠The fiber square array exhibited much stronger strengthening at higher fiber fraction. ⺠The stiffness of interphase has significant influences on damage behavior.
