Abstract
⺠Wavy interfaces feature biological composites with superior mechanical property. ⺠We use cohesive crack model to investigate the fracture feature of wavy interfaces. ⺠Effects of two-level hierarchical sinusoidal geometry on toughness are studied. ⺠An interface with a hierarchical sinusoidal structure has higher fracture toughness. ⺠This study helps the optimal design of advanced biomimetic materials.
