Abstract

âº Damage onset and progression modelling of a DP steel using XFEM and damage curve. âº Influence of mesh size dependency on damage onset and evolution was studied. âº Damage firstly occurred in the enriched martensite. âº This resulted in a damage onset in the ferritic phase because of strain localisation. âº Later, ductile damage governed the damage progression throughout the microstructure.
