Abstract
Grain size effects in the plastic strain fields are predicted by the microcurl model. The dislocation density tensor field is computed in 2D polycrystalline unit cells. The microcurl model can capture the Hall-Petch-like grain size effect. In ultra-fine grains, a network of intense slip bands is formed in the polycrystal.
