Abstract
Longitudinally reinforced concrete beams without stirrups were examined. Shear span-to-depth radio (a/d) is the main parameter that affected their work. According to a/d differences of diagonal crack propagation were observed in tests. Numerical simulations confirmed the change of failure mechanism when a/d < 2.5.
