Abstract
⸠The energy band gaps in cadmium chalcogenides increase linearly with increasing pressure. ⸠The quasi harmonic Debye model is successfully applied. ⸠At high temperature, these compounds stay hard. ⸠As pressure increases, the compounds become less compressible.
