Abstract
► MD simulations to determine the mechanical properties of silicon-graphene heterostructure. ► Graphene enhances the mechanical properties of silicon. ► The Young's modulus of the heterostructure decreases with increase of silicon nanofilm thickness. ► Fracture is initiated with breaking of Si-Si bonds near the interface.
