Abstract
This paper deals with the identification of the mechanical parameters of multi-layered system by indentation test and inverse analysis. Extensive numerical computations have been performed in order to test the performance of the proposed methodology in terms of result accuracy and computational effort. Current research on multi-layered systems has been driven by advances in the processing and manufacturing of these components. For example, new layered structures have been produced by pressing in successive operations thin components or by depositing subsequent layers in a specified order.
