Abstract
⺠The effective coefficients are predicted for circular cylinder, square column and circular cylinder alternated with square column at various fiber volume fractions by using the AHM and FEM. ⺠The present results indicate the shape of piezoelectric phase influences the effective properties weaker than the volume fraction. ⺠Stronger stress concentration in square column is observed, so circular cylinder is the best choice for piezoelectric phase shape in designing PCM.
