Abstract

The theory of equilibrium relationships for non-equilibrium dependencies previously created for the batch reactor is further developed for the description of the Temporal Analysis of Products (TAP) experimental data. Corrections are necessary to account for the different diffusivity values affecting the gas transport over the inert zones in the reactor. These corrections can be performed in the Laplace domain, the Fourier domain, or, using special series of exponentially weighted integrals, directly in the time domain.

► New phenomenon of equilibrium relationships between non-equilibrium dependencies. ► Theory extended from batch to thin-zone TAP-reactors. ► Calculate the exact Laplace domain correction factors for physical transport. ► Time-domain realizations of this correction. ► Theory is justified by an analysis of the water-gas shift reaction mechanism.
