Abstract
⺠The main highlight of this research is the treatment of CNT/matrix interface strength effects on nanocomposite mechanical properties. ⺠Perfect bonding, for Em = 3.2 GPa, indicate a 50% increase in nanocomposite longitudinal modulus. ⺠The results of elastic interface models indicated an increase in nanocomposite longitudinal modulus with interface strength. ⺠Enhancing bonding at the CNT/matrix interface is a very important factor in achieving high moduli nanocomposites. ⺠Interface strength had little effect on the nanocomposite transverse modulus.
