Abstract
Observations are reported on poly(acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene) in uniaxial cyclic tensile tests (a low-cycle program with strain control). Constitutive equations are developed for the elastoplastic response of solid polymers at three-dimensional cyclic deformations with small strains. Adjustable parameters in the stress–strain relations are found by fitting the experimental data. Good agreement is demonstrated between the observations and the results of numerical simulation.
