Abstract
The inelastic behaviour of Al-based Fe-enriched alloy containing intermetallic phase is considered. A mechanical model for that in situ composite is proposed. The elastic-plastic model is based on the secant moduli method and on density-dependent porous models. The effect of the intermetallic phase on densification and hardening behaviour of powder based aluminium alloy is investigated under cold compaction. The model is implemented as user defined subroutines into the FE code MARC. An approach is proposed for determining material constants of the aluminium-based solid solution, coupling results of the numerical simulations with experimental data.
