Abstract
⺠We investigated the effect of Cu on melt-spun Al-Mn-Be alloy. ⺠Icosahedral quasicrystal (IQC) and Al2Cu formed during melt spinning. ⺠During heat treatment IQC transformed into Al29Mn6Cu2 and Be4Al(Mn,Cu). ⺠The maximum hardness was attained after heat treatment at 400 °C.
