Abstract
► Aluminide/nickel duplex coating was created by hot-dipping nickel pre-plated steel. ► The effect of nickel pre-plating on the formation of intermetallic layer was studied. ► Nickel pre-plating caused a thin intermetallic layer in the aluminide coating.
