Abstract
⺠Rapid solidification allows a reduction in grain size, extended solid solution ranges. ⺠We observed the matrix lattice parameter increases with increasing wheel speed. ⺠Melt-spun ribbons consist of partly amorphous phases embedded in crystalline phases. ⺠The solidification rate is high enough to retain most of alloying elements in the Al matrix. ⺠The rapid solidification has effect on the phase constitution.
