Abstract
⺠A method for preparing UFG aluminum nanocomposites through PM route discussed. ⺠Al2O3 and Y2O3 particulates increase micro-hardness and sinterability properties. ⺠Y2O3 particulates were found to have stable sinterability under varying sintering time. ⺠Temperature of 823 K and a soaking time of 180 min were found suitable for UFG MMCs. ⺠Uniform distribution and good interfacial integrity of particles were observed.
