Abstract
In this study, the mean grain size of ceramic–metal composites, made from boron carbide (B4C)–aluminium (Al)–nickel (Ni) powders, has been determined with ultrasonic velocity technique by using a 2 MHz transducer. An ultrasonic velocity–grain size master graph was plotted using a 4 MHz ultrasonic transducer. The results were compared to the mean grain size obtained from SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) images.
