Abstract
A design combining the advantages of oxide dispersion-strengthening, grain-boundary strengthening and hot-swaging leads to a high performance W-0.2%Zr-1%Y2O3 alloy with enhanced strength and ductility. The Y2O3 particles in tungsten could improve the strength and high-temperature properties, while trace Zr (0.2Â wt%) could getter oxygen impurity and enhance grain boundary cohesive strength.
