Abstract
Hot deformation behavior of 403 martensitic stainless steel was investigated by conducting hot compression tests at the temperature of 900–1200° C with the strain rates of 0.017–1.7 s−1. The dynamic recrystallization (DRX) behavior was analyzed under varying deformation condition. What’s more, basing on analyses of all the factors such as power dissipation map, instability map, dynamic recrystallization grain size or delta ferrite, an optimized condition for hot deformation of 403 steel was proposed.
