Abstract
Slip lines of Fe80Al20 crystals deformed in compression test at room temperature were observed in situ by atomic force microscopy. Peculiar slip traces characterized by a narrow portion spreading at both ends were evidenced. Their origin is discussed in terms of dislocation mechanisms controlling plasticity of body centered cubic materials.
