Abstract
Tensile and tearing tests of some annealed Cu–Al alloy sheets with different Al contents were conducted in this study. It is found that their tearing toughness is not materials’ constant and shows close relationship to their microstructure and tensile strength. With increasing Al contents, the uniform elongation and tensile strength of Cu–Al alloys display a synchronously increasing trend, and the tearing toughness also rises rapidly, furthermore, it can be regarded as the combination of strength and ductility of materials.
