Abstract
⺠Formation of TiAl3 was elucidated by a theoretical model. ⺠Its formation was accompanied with an order-disorder transition. ⺠Growth of TiAl3 followed the parabolic growth between 600 °C and 650 °C. ⺠Its growth was dominated by the diffusion of Ti in TiAl3 phase. ⺠Introduction of TiB2 particles had little influence on the growth of TiAl3 layer.
