Abstract
⺠We compare low velocity impact response of Al foam blocks with different face sheets. ⺠Energy absorbing capacity of the Al foam blocks increases with increasing thickness. ⺠Amount of impact energy and initiation failure mode depend on the face sheet used. ⺠Aluminum foam blocks with 0.5 mm SS face sheet performs the best among all.
