Abstract
⺠Fracture tests were conducted on a V-notched specimen made of polycrystalline graphite. ⺠The specimen was subjected to both tensile and shear deformation. ⺠Effects of shear deformation on fracture load depend notably on the notch geometry. ⺠The experimental results could be estimated very well by a fracture criterion.
