Abstract
⺠The effect of single cycle of overload on fatigue durability of shot peened steel was studied. ⺠The stability and relaxation of the residual stresses were investigated. ⺠The results were compared with constant amplitude test data. ⺠One cycle of overloading can reduce the fatigue life time by 25-60%. ⺠The influence of sequence and loading direction shown to be very pronounced.
