Abstract
⺠Foams manufactured using magnesium and contained porosities in the range â¼43-64%. ⺠Foams with Widmanstätten structure exhibited elastic-plastic type stress-strain curve. ⺠Deformation bands perpendicular to the compression axis developed. ⺠There is a power law relation between yield strength and macro porosity fraction. ⺠The strength of porous cell wall changes with the square of neck size ratio (X/D)2.
