Abstract
The effect of electropulsing treatment (ET) on the microstructure of Mg–3Al–1Zn (AZ31) alloy was investigated. Combing with the calculated temperature of the sample after ET, it was found that electropulsing accelerated dynamic recrystallization (DRX) at a relatively low temperature and a high strain rate. Based on the interplay between the accumulation and annihilation effects of electropulsing, a tentative mechanism of DRX induced by electropulsing was discussed.
