Abstract
► Influence of isothermal aging on the microstructures and strength in Inconel 740, a new Ni-based superalloy, was investigated. ► The aging-induced changes in the overall hardness as well as the phase hardness were analyzed. ► The aging-induced strength change is discussed in terms of the possible contributions of precipitation strengthening and solid solution strengthening.
